After the shareholders of the DTH operator voted down a motion to reappoint Jawahar Goel as managing director of Dish TV, Goel has decided to stand down from his position and leave the company. NEW DELHI
At the annual general meeting that took place on Friday, Dish TV noted in a regulatory filing, “The motion for reappointment of Goel as MD has not received required majority.” In spite of this, the regulatory filing said that Goel “continues in his role as a non-executive director.”
In addition, the proposal to reappoint Anil Kumar Dua as a whole-time director and the appointment of its former CEO Rajagopal Chakravarthi Venkateish as a non-executive independent director have both “not received required majority,” according to the company’s statement.
