Chandigarh has reorganised its 27 junior engineering positions.

A significant reorganisation was carried out on Saturday by the UT Engineering Department in Chandigarh, which resulted in the posting and transfer orders of 27 young engineers (JEs). According to UT Chief Engineer CB Ojha, there have been an immediate 22 transfers of junior civil engineers, and there have been five transfers of junior electrical engineers. He stated that 22 JEs (civil) had been transferred to the department’s Building and Road wing, while the remaining employees had been assigned to the electrical wing as of recently. TNS

Observance of the Seafarer’s Day

In Chandigarh, on Saturday, the Day of the Seafarer was celebrated by the Chandigarh chapter of the Merchant Navy Officers’ Association (MNOA). The head of the chapter, Capt. TS Bhatia, stated that the time had radically altered for seafarers and that there was an urgent need for them to reorient themselves to the new reality, which was experiencing lower crew strength and shortened port stays. According to Capt Jaideep Khatri, general secretary of the MNOA, the maritime world is rapidly undergoing change, with ships becoming more environmentally friendly, the rate of digitalisation increasing, and crews becoming more varied. The expedition was given the go-ahead.

On Saturday, the SOUL Club of Tata Motors got the ball rolling on a seven-day expedition drive to Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. The trip was launched off in Chandigarh. The rally will go more than 1,200 kilometres and will travel through Manali, Chandratal, Kaza, Tabo/Nako, Sangla, and Thanedhar before returning on July 3 through the same route. There are a great number of experienced off-road drivers and navigators taking part in the competition.
